We also walk the walk (or drive as the case may be): Mobility employees tell us about their car sharing experiences
04.09.2025

Mobility employees also use the red cars. But do they actually like their own product? Ten people tell us about their experiences and reveal what improvements they would like to see – and whether they ever miss their own car.
Eat your own dog food – this saying from the corporate world refers to a practice where companies test and use their own products to understand if they are really good enough to survive in the market. But "dogfooding" also helps companies to better understand customers' problems or frustrations.
The Mobility Cooperative also relies on the real experiences of its 250 or so employees. Some of them only use the shared cars occasionally. After all, there's nothing to stop you owning your own vehicle whilst working for a car sharing provider. Others are dedicated fans of shared mobility and have been using car sharing for years or even decades. Julia and Beni, for example, have never owned a car. Stefan and Monica made the switch after moving to the city.
Why do Mobility employees use car sharing? For the same reasons as other customers:
«I don't have to worry about anything. I can just get in a car and drive off.»Muzi
«The Mobility vehicles are cleaner and have a bit more power than my old car did.»Chantal
Employees should use the Mobility service as regularly as possible in order to get a better understanding of the offer itself and the customers who use it. Employees who work for Mobility therefore receive a discount on the kilometre and hourly rates. Other than that, they are subject to the same conditions as anyone else. As a result, Mobility's employees also have the same experiences – and not just positive ones.
«I was almost starting to despair because the I just couldn't get the door to open – that's when I noticed I was standing in front of the wrong car.»Renate
«In hindsight, I was just really lucky.»Stephen
In ten interviews, Mobility employees provide insights into their everyday mobility, share useful tips and tricks and talk about what they would do if the Mobility offer did not exist. Their stories will be published here on an ongoing basis over the coming weeks and will hopefully provide an exciting insight – not only into the world of Mobility, but also into normal car sharing utilisation. Or as Dagmar puts it: "Just give it a try — it's really very straightforward."
