cooperativePresiding over the section assembly

Tasks, rights and obligations Section Presidium and Section Head

(Excerpt from section regulations Art. 13)

Section assemblies may optionally elect one section presidium for each section from among their delegates for an ordinary term of office of two years. This office can be organised as an individual chair, as a chair with a vice chair or as a co-chair. If there are two persons in this office, they must decide before each section assembly who is to chair and who must fulfil his or her duties. The names of those elected to the Presidium of the Section must be announced to the administration within 10 days of the election. The role of the section presidium includes assisting in the preparation and chairing of the section assembly in accordance with the provisions of the Articles of Association. They maintain contact and exchange information with the delegates and substitute delegates of their own section and other section presidencies. They support the intersectional alignment of similarly worded motions. The section presidencies also have contact with the cooperative members in their section. This contact is made via the administration. If relevant to the cooperative and in the interests of the cooperative, the latter forwards the information from the Steering Board to all cooperative members of the relevant section. The Section Presidium has neither authority to issue instructions nor special powers of representation on behalf of Mobility. Section presidents receive lump-sum remuneration for the performance of their duties. The amount and type of compensation is determined by the Board of Directors, taking into account the size of the section.
