cooperativeDelegates support as replacement delegates

The position of replacement delegate

Replacement delegates perform a kind of standby function, succeeding or replacing elected delegates. They either replace a delegate from their own section if the latter resigns during the ordinary term of office. Or they represent a delegate from their section on an occasion.

Replacement delegates are Cooperative members themselves and are elected at their section assemblies for an ordinary term of two years. Sections have the option of electing no more than half as many replacement delegates as delegates.

Duties, rights and obligations of replacement delegates

(Excerpt from section regulations Art. 12)

  • Replacement delegates must be cooperative members of the Mobility Cooperative (cf. Articles of association, Article 32). They obtain information about the course of business and developments of the cooperative and their own section via the various information channels available (www.mobility.ch, electronic information platform for replacement delegates, Mobility journals, e-newsletters, annual reports, etc.). Replacement delegates are expected to attend the following events:
    a) Any regional section meetings
    b) Delegate Forum (in October or November)
    c) Section assembly (January to March)

  • Replacement delegates are remunerated for the performance of their duties (e.g. benefits). The amount and type of compensation are determined by the Board of Directors.

  • Substitute delegates can attend the conference as guests on an optional basis, provided space permits (registration required). Substitute delegates have no voting, voting or co-discussion rights at the delegates’ meeting.
