Do you know sustainable Geneva?
His second-hand shops and grocery shops? His housing co-operatives and his property library? His vegetarian restaurants, his organic bookshops, his vegan dairy? If you haven't heard of it yet, there's a wonderful world out there for you to discover.
What is Mission Genève durable?
Mission Genève durable is organised by the Atelier La Fresque du climat on the occasion of the City of Geneva's Climate Week and is a large urban course in the form of a team game. Anyone can take part. In teams of two to four people, you go to one of the selected locations to find the answer to a question.
How many Mobility stations are there at Cornavin station? Which plant from the botanical garden can be found on the plate in the Amarante restaurant? What is the best-known toaster in Switzerland that is known for its sustainability?
Sometimes you have to rummage around a bit, explore the shop or the garden where the answer is hidden. But this is not particularly difficult. The aim of the game is above all to discover places that offer alternatives and to explore new ways of consuming, eating and travelling in a responsible way.
How can I take part?
To take part in the mission, a map can be downloaded from missiongenevedurable.ch from Tuesday 19 November. Register online and off you go!
The deadline for submitting answers is midnight on Monday, 2 December. Results and prizes will be communicated from 3 December. We look forward to seeing you!
Win a day with Mobility (300 km included)
There are two ways to take part in the game.
- The first is simple: You will find the answer to just one of the questions asked. This effort enters you into a draw for a small sustainable prize - a paperback book, a discount voucher for a flea market or the Mobility Shop or Citypass.
- The second type requires a little more effort: You answer four questions, face a CO2 challenge and take part in a joint workshop. Throughout Climate Week, Mission Genève durable will be offering a wide range of fun and informative serious games on the topics of biodiversity, plastics, the circular economy, climate, the link between gender and climate, textiles, digital issues, planetary boundaries, etc. The rewards for participating at this level include big, sustainable prizes such as a hearty vegetarian meal for the members of the winning team, a tote bag that can be filled in a clothing boutique, or a day trip in an electric car from Mobility (a station wagon) with 300 km included!
