In rural areas, where public transport is often lacking, a second car can seem attractive at first. However, it can become an unnecessary burden for your wallet and for the environment.

This is where Mobility comes into play – set up a car sharing community for you and your neighbours! You take on a Placement-Share together. You provide the parking space and we supply the car sharing vehicle. And that's how Mobility was originally developed – as a vehicle community between friends or private individuals.

As a vehicle community, you benefit from the comprehensive package (reservation system, fuel, insurance, cleaning, maintenance, hotline 24h/365d) and don’t need to worry about anything to do with the vehicle. In addition, you’ll also receive 11 mobilityPLUS free of charge, to promote optimum use of the vehicle.

You have the choice: If you make your car available to other Mobility users as well, you can reduce the costs even further. Together, you can manage sensible utilisation of the vehicle while at the same time reducing your costs and the use of resources.

Further cost distribution by third-party users

With the Placement-Share, you decide on whether you want exclusive use of your Mobility car, or whether you also make it available to our network of over 280’000 Mobility customers. The advantage of this is that third-party users can rent the Mobility car via the app and can share in the costs of use. And by the way, from a certain level of vehicle use, we offer you a Sharer Bonus in the form of a share of drive volumes.

If your location proves to be particularly popular with Mobility users, you have the option of relinquishing your placement sharing – which means that the annual vehicle fee is also eliminated.

FAQs

What are the requirements for obtaining a vehicle?
You need at least one further person to set up a vehicle community and take on a Placement-Share.
A further criterion is a parking space that is accessible 24 hours a day. Access by means of an access system (e.g. long-term parking card for garage etc.) is of course also possible. If you would like an electric car, a power line is also required. The minimum dimensions must also be met (W x H): 1.90 m x 5-6 m for parallel parking, 2.50 m x 5 m for perpendicular parking and 2.50 m x 4.80 m for angled parking.
If your parking space meets these requirements, enter the contact data of a person from your group in our online form. A Mobility contact person will get in touch with you.
What does a Mobility Placement-Share cost?
You pay the fixed costs of the vehicle fee annually for the Mobility Placement-Share. We will send the invoice to the contact person of your vehicle community. You organise how the costs are split up in your car sharing group. If the specified utilisation target has not been met by the end of the year by your vehicle community and other Mobility users, you will be charged the difference. If the utilisation target is exceeded, you will receive a Sharer Bonus that reduces the costs.
Example: The annual vehicle fee for a VW ID.3 is CHF 5’900*. If you, as a vehicle community, use the vehicle for around CHF 100* per week and additional third-party users use the vehicle for an additional CHF 70* per week, there are no additional costs. (The combined CHF 170* correspond to reservation for around 20 hours and 200 kilometres per week)
