Are you in the Engadin and fancy an unforgettable day trip? Whether cosy or spectacular, with hiking action or culinary delights: The journey through the Bergell towards Chiavenna offers several highlights. Find the right one for you.

You can find the right Mobility car in St. Moritz, PontresinaSils or Poschiavo.

Spectacular scenery on the Bernina Pass

The next highlight is not long in coming. In summer, parking spaces are occasionally scarce, especially when a Rhaetian Railway train is approaching. But the obligatory stop at the Montebello bend is a must. If the weather is fine, you can take the perfect picture from there with two of the most famous mountains in Graubünden: Piz Bernina and the Rhaetian Railway. The picture is perfect when both are combined in one photo.

We follow the train towards the Bernina Pass. The more metres in altitude you gain, the more barren the landscape becomes - but no less beautiful! Once you reach 2327 metres above sea level, it's worth getting out again. The view of the mountains and Lago Bianco is worthwhile in both winter and summer. And the same applies here: The red train in combination with the landscape is a special sight.

Glacier action on Diavolezza

If you want to see the Grisons mountains from possibly the best perspective, stop off at Diavolezza on the way to the top of the pass. While the Mobility car waits in the car park below, we take the cable car up to the Diavolezza.

Those who want more than just a view can immerse themselves in the unique glacier world for two hours on the "Glacier Experience Trail"Would that be something for you? The intern tested the glacier theme trail for us:

Lagh da Saoseo and Lagh da Val Viola

Once you leave the glacier world behind you, a special valley awaits your visit. If you've never heard of the Val di Campo, perhaps you've heard of the Rifugio Saoseo or the Lago di Saoseo or the Lagh da Val Viola? Please note: Plan at least half a day for this worthwhile detour.

The Mobility car remains in the car park in Sfazù on the Bernina Pass road. From there, you can either walk or take the hiking bus (book by phone) to Val di Campo. Those in need of refreshment will find what they are looking for at the SAC hut Rifugio Saoseo. Afterwards, take a walk to the nearby lakes. If you want to extend your discovery tour, simply stay overnight at the Rifugio Saoseo.

Graubünden and Mobility make mobility sustainable

Graubünden Ferien and Mobility are responding to the growing need for clean mobility on holiday. For example, the project "Graubünden sustainably mobile" was launched. The aim of this is to develop combined mobility consisting of public transport and e-car sharing and to establish this among holiday guests and locals. The aim of this service is to encourage people to switch to public transport for long journeys (especially the journey there) and only travel shorter distances locally by car.

Cavaglia glacier gorge

Next stop Cavaglia! During a tour of the glacier garden, you can look back over the centuries and discover the power of nature. Tip for next time: Although it is more comfortable by car, the journey to Cavaglia on the Rhaetian Railway is more spectacular. The UNESCO World Heritage route is an even better way to immerse yourself in the spectacular landscape.

Gelati or pizzocheri in Poschiavo

It's getting close to Italy, so it's high time for a gelato! The town of Poschiavo is (not only) suitable for this. It's quite possible that it won't just be a glacé, as you'll find other delicacies on a stroll through the picturesque village.

If you and your travelling companions are looking for a special culinary experience: Learn how to cook the perfect pizzoccheri in Poschiavo. The local speciality made from buckwheat is known beyond the cantonal and national borders. Ornella and Fausto Isepponi invite you to cook on Thursdays from 5 pm during the summer months (July - September).

To stretch your legs, take a walk along Lago di Poschiavo or a photo stop in Miralago. A little further south, the Rhaetian Railway also feels the difference in altitude: If you're travelling towards Tirano, you can't avoid the Brusio circular viaduct, even by car. It's worth waiting for a train to pass by, which adds a special touch to the view.

High above the Puschlav

Wer nun noch einmal hoch hinaus möchte, fährt von Brusio aufwärts Richtung Viano. Von dort aus geht es entweder zu Fuss oder mit dem Auto weiter bis zum Naturparkplatz Piaz. From there, it is only a few metres up to the Rifugio Alpe San Romerio. The picturesque alp consists of several houses and a small church, from where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Puschlav. In summer (usually from May to October), day visitors are treated to local specialities and there are also numerous accommodation options.
