Through the Upper Engadine towards the Maloja Pass
Let's head for Maloja! Don't let yourself be distracted while riding, because the view of the Upper Engadin lake landscape is spectacular - especially in autumn. So it's better to stop off at one of the many places to take a look.
Immediately after Maloja, the next highlight awaits: the Maloja Pass. It connects the Bergell with the Engadin and offers a unique riding experience.

Graubünden holidays and Mobility make mobility sustainable
Graubünden Ferien and Mobility are responding to the growing need for clean mobility on holiday. For example, the project "Graubünden sustainably mobile" was launched. The aim of this is to develop combined mobility consisting of public transport and e-car sharing and to establish this among holiday guests and locals. The aim of this service is to encourage people to switch to public transport for long journeys (especially the journey there) and only travel shorter distances locally by car.
Up to the Albigna dam
Back to your personal discovery tour. As you recover from the countless hairpin bends on the pass road, another feature of the Bergell catches your eye: the imposing Albigna dam. Thanks to the cable car, you can climb the almost 1000 metres in altitude in just a few minutes during the summer months.
If you fancy a short hike, we recommend the 45-minute walk to the Albigna SAC hut (T2). The hut is usually open from mid-June to mid-October.
Chestnuts in Soglio
Soglio is one of the best-known villages in Bregaglia. Situated on a sunny mountain terrace at almost 1100 metres, the old mountain village attracts visitors not only because of its old palaces, houses and stables. Soglio has an unusual flora that attracts many people, especially during the autumn months. The reason: The chestnut groves below the village.
From the end of September, the villages of Soglio, Bondo and Castasegna are a hive of activity for almost a month. Guided tours, lectures, markets, tastings, nature trails: The Chestnut Festival offers something for everyone. Find out here what activities are planned and where you are allowed to collect chestnuts yourself.
Gelati in Chiavenna
If you haven't soaked up enough Mediterranean flair in the south of Bregaglia, do as "The Intern" does and continue your journey to Chiavenna. Pizza and gelati à la Italia are just a few minutes' drive from the border. Enjoy!
You can find more excursion tips and up-to-date information for your trip to Bregaglia on the official website. And if you are already in Bregaglia and are planning an excursion from there: There is also a Mobility location in Bregaglia.
