Host a Mobility station in your municipality

Modern mobility thanks to car sharing

Of course, the depot needs its own service vehicles. But what about the administrative staff? Using their own cars and laboriously having to claim expenses? Operating municipal pool vehicles involves a considerable amount of work: from cleaning and maintenance to dealing with damage. Added to this is the ambition to become more sustainable and energy-efficient as a municipality.

Our answer to these problems is shared mobility – car sharing – tailored to your municipality. With 'placement sharing’, your municipality hosts a new Mobility station and hands over all the administrative and operational work to us. The pressure to supply additional parking spaces decreases, even though the municipality is growing. Mobility can be noticeably expanded. Municipal employees as well as residents book the vehicle using the user-friendly Mobility app – it’s easy.

'Placement sharing’ finds your municipality making an active contribution to sustainable mobility – as a benefit for residents and employees alike. Our solutions are flexible, and partnership-based development is at the centre of everything we do.

Benefits for your community

  • Reduction of second vehicle ownership throughout the municipality and positioning as a sustainable municipality and employer
  • Increased attractiveness of the municipality for tourism
  • Opportunities for high vehicle utilisation due to unique brand awareness and 280’000 customers
  • Exclusive availability for the municipality’s administration staff
  • Individual contact person, peace-of-mind package and 24/7 hotline for all users
  • Marketing tool kit to inform the inhabitants
  • Reliable partner: we’re the No. 1 car sharing provider – since 1997

By opting for 'placement sharing’, your municipality offers people the opportunity to car-share

Reduced standing times thanks to Mobility’s network

The Mobility vehicle hosted by the municipality becomes part of our 280’000-strong Mobility network. This is exactly how shared mobility works: instead of countless parking spaces and unused vehicles, the use of a Mobility vehicle is maximised. This is how your municipality helps reduce car ownership. And by the way, from a certain level of use, we also offer the municipality a sharer bonus in the form of a share of the turnover generated by customers’ journeys.

If your Mobility station proves to be particularly popular with users, the municipality has the option of relinquishing its 'placement sharing’ – which has the effect of eliminating the annual vehicle fee.

FAQs

What does a Mobility station sponsorship cost?

As a sponsor of a Mobility station, you pay the fixed costs for the vehicle contribution and the variable costs for vehicle use by municipality employees (hours and kilometres). If the specified usage target has not been met by the end of the year, you are charged the difference from the usage target. If the usage target is exceeded, you receive a sponsor bonus that reduces your costs. Both your journeys and those of third parties (e.g. municipality residents) count towards achieving the usage target.

Example: The annual vehicle contribution for a VW ID.3 is CHF 5'900*. If municipality employees use the vehicle for around CHF 70* per week and local residents use the vehicle for an additional CHF 100* per week, there are no additional costs for you.

What are the requirements for obtaining a vehicle?

The most important criterion is a parking space that is accessible 24 hours a day. Access by means of an access system (e.g. long-term parking card for a garage etc.) is possible too, of course. If you would like an electric car, a power line is also required. The minimum dimensions must also be met (W x H): 1.90 m x 5-6 m for parallel parking, 2.50 m x 5 m for perpendicular parking and 2.50 m x 4.80 m for angled parking.

If you meet these parking space requirements, simply enter your contact details in our online form. Your contact person will get in touch with you.
