Davos in all its variations

Many are unlikely to have made it beyond Davos to date – but the Landwasser Valley offers even more Davos Dorf and Davos Platz. In addition to the summer and winter sports paradise of Davos, Switzerland’s sixth largest municipality in terms of surface area has other gems to discover: Have you been to Davos Clavadel, Davos Frauenkirch, Davos Glaris, Davos Monstein or Davos Wiesen? Thanks to Mobility, you can explore the Landwasser Valley in just one day.

You can stop off in the Walser village of Monstein. The town still has traditional wooden houses, some of which are even covered with larch shingles. There are also the typical storage on posts. If you are in Monstein on a Friday, you should visit the highest brewery in Switzerland and the first show brewery in Graubünden. The Monstein-Brauerei offers a variety of activities, from brewing seminars to the beer educational trail. And yes: There are also non-alcoholic beers.

Further information on the picturesque villages and side valleys can be found on the website of the Davos Klosters holiday region.

Hiking picturesque mountain lakes

The Flüela Pass is one of the most beautiful Alpine passes in Switzerland and is perfect for an excursion – beautiful views and stops included. If you have brought enough time, your hiking boots, sure-footedness and food, then a stop at the Wägerhütte hut on the Flüela Pass is a good idea. Please note: The hike takes several hours. Please find out about the route and the conditions. For example, whether the hiking trails are open or whether there is already snow. The intern wanted to test the hike for us, but had to stop due to the bad weather conditions. You can find the video below.

If the weather is not suitable for hiking, a journey over to Lower Engadin may be a good idea. Stroll through the Ursli village of Guarda or visit the National Park Museum in Zernez.

The Davos Klosters website provides information on the region’s latest excursion tips.

Graubünden and Mobility are sustainably mobile

Graubünden Ferien and Mobility are responding to the growing need for clean mobility during holidays. As a result, the “Graubünden sustainably mobile” project started. This aims to develop combined mobility between public transport and e-car sharing and establish it among holidaymakers and locals alike. The aim of this offer is to ensure that long distances (particularly the journey) are shifted to public transport and that only shorter distances are covered locally by car.

Leisurely mountain lake tour

Fancy a leisurely day trip to a picturesque mountain lake? Then head towards St. Antönien. You drive the village and park the Mobility car in the official parking bays further back in the valley. The further back, the less you need to walk. You then walk gently to Lake Partnun. The path is also suitable for prams. Once at the top, there’s not only a fantastic mountain scenery and several barbecue areas, but also two boats with paddles that you can hire for a fee and manoeuvre across the lake yourself.

You can find more information about Prättigau on the website

Mobility cars are not only available in Davos. The Prättigau can be seen e.g. from Schiers or Landquart.

Landwasser and Wiesen Viaduct

Vid and Malik are a prime example of By train, the journey through the Zügen Gorge and the historic Wiesen Viaduct is a highlight. Here’s a tip: From May to the end of October, historical RhB compositions will run twice a day on the Davos Platz – Filisur line

But if you want to explore several highlights in one day, a trip with Mobility is a good idea. In addition to the Wiesen Viaduct, the world-famous Landwasser Viaduct (this will not happen on the Davos – Filisur train line). The UNESCO World Heritage building is easy to reach from the car park, even with pushchairs.

And if you want to combine train and car in a different way, park in Davos Monstein and walk through the Zügen Gorge to Davos Wiesen. You will then take the train back to the car. This experience also goes the other way around.
