Magnum, why Mobility?
By chance. I was looking for a job and had experience as a call centre agent at a market research company. I thought to myself: Why not just give it a try? I felt comfortable right from the start, primarily because of the nice people. That surprised me because I didn't know that from the world of work. After a while, they were still nice. I realised that this is a normal situation at Mobility. I played football for a long time and had a few part-time or temporary jobs. I worked with great people, but the interaction between them was nothing like that at Mobility. I sought peace and quiet in my sporting and private life and found it.
You've been here for 13 years now - and you're still happy?
Mobility does a lot of things right. One of our strengths is always recruiting good people so that there is a good working atmosphere and a working culture can continue to develop. I've been here for 13 years now and I can't really pick out anything that is fundamentally wrong for me.
Why is the feel-good factor so high at Mobility?
It's important to me that people take centre stage and that's the case at Mobility. Cooperation is important to the company and it shows this to its employees. I find the way we interact with each other very pleasant, which certainly has something to do with the fact that we treat each other as equals and there is an inter-company "you" culture. In my opinion, the parties, for example the summer party and other events throughout the year, are a highlight.
Your positive nature is unmistakable. That's not self-evident when you consider that your job and that of your team primarily consists of solving problems.
This is sometimes a question of attitude. As a team leader, I am not on the front line every day and am only called in on rare occasions. It helps that I myself provided telephone support for eight years. This means I can provide my employees with good advice. Back to the question: Yes, we are confronted with problems, but we do not work in an area where we are confronted with serious or even life-threatening issues on a daily basis. That makes it easier. If I worked for a health insurance company and had to refuse to pay for a sick person's medication, that would be a burden for me.
Does Mobility have a positive impact on you or your life?
It is undisputed that mobility has a positive influence on my actions, although some changes in behaviour are simply due to ageing and/or social developments. For example, I realise that I consume meat less frequently and more consciously than I used to. The fact that I now almost always travel by public transport has a lot to do with Mobility.
You are the father of two children and spend a lot of time on the football pitch in the evenings. Is this all compatible with your work at Mobility?
That works very well. I benefit from the flexible working hours by taking my daughters to school or nursery from time to time in the morning when I work from home. Then I just sit at the computer at 8.30am. When I compare it with other employers, Mobility offers a lot of flexibility.
To what extent is mobility MORK, more than just work, for you?
I was able to get to know great people and make great friendships, which are also cultivated in my private life. I don't think that's very common in this country these days. In my opinion, this has to do with the fact that employees in many larger companies are a "number", whereas here at Mobility you are seen as a person.
